About Hawaii /

Finally, I have a little more time- actually, too much on my hands. I am in Hawaiian Islands, specifically Oahu. I’m going to stay here for the next two and a half weeks. Hopefully, it will be a time of inspiration. Of course, Hawaii IS really a paradise on Earth. Tropical flowers, white sand, humid mountain forests, active volcanoes, and an ocean that is so clean, you can see the bottom even 20 feet deep.

I wish I could capture all that, but I don’t have the car to get to all those places. But, naturally, I will work with what I’ve got and capture as much of the island beauty, as possible. I also have more equipment this time, and more than ever before. External flash unit, different lens filters, and lens tulip hood – all are courtesy of my boyfriend :) – should aid me in my search for accurate depictions.

So, I’m planning on being here more often, with more works, and better quality than ever. But for now, here are some photos I made last year spending half of my summer in Oahu.

  4. I spent a couple of weeks on Oahu this year, mostly on the North Shore, near Waimea Bay. Your pics have brought back good memories, thanks!

  5. Love your pics, they’re great! I love the beach too & have endless photos of so many Aussie beaches.. I might have to actually start posting them too! You’ve inspired me to get them up there.. Keep it up! Kate x

    • I almost always use very high aperture, which gives blurred, out of focus background. It also may be because the surfers were very far away and moving fast, which I tried to adjust to by using high shutter speeds and 55-250mm lens, which zooms in a lot, but still gives not that clear image sometimes. I use very basic equipment and I’m pretty new to photography.

  6. You should go to the Kahala Mandarin Oriental resort, it’s a lovely setting and you will find hundreds of inspirational shots, guaranteed! Enjoy it while you’re there!

  7. Beautiful pictures! A friend of mine is from Hawaii, I can’t wait to go there someday. In the mean time I’ll just have to make do with pictures that folks like you share.
    God Bless,
    Donna

  8. I envy you … having too much time on one’s hands in Oahu must be a wonderful thing! I was in Maui a few years ago — apart from the $6 gallons of milk at the store, the entire experience was magical!

    :)
